Author The author of the book Prem Lata Pokharna during her tenure as a Numismatist in the Department of Archaeology and Museums, Government of Rajasthan and afterwards did a classic work in the field of numismatics and History which were published in a number of leading journals. She published books entitled ‘Coins and Coin hoards of Rajasthan’, ‘Coins of North India’ of which the later has been recently included as a reference book for Post-Graduation in the field of Numismatics & Archaeology, University of Mumbai, Maharashtra and University of Delhi, India and Punch-marked coins of Rajasthan which provides a panoramic view of the ancient punch marked coins of the state. She also deciphered a huge quantity of different series of coins lying in Government museums of Rajasthan. The Department of Culture and the Indian Council of Historical Research, Government of India awarded senior fellowships twice. She was elected as a fellow of Royal Numismatic Society, London in the year 2005 and awarded Maharana Kumbha Award by the Maharana Mewar Foundation, Udaipur, Rajasthan in the year 2007.
